There are three different kinds of highlighters: skin toned & matte, light matte powder, and light glimmery powder.

The skin toned & matte highlighter is perfect for applying under the eyes to visibly raise the area and give some concealer affect to discolorations.  Mary Kay was the first company to have a highlighter and dubbed it The Highlighting Pen.

Matte highlighters can also be used in smile lines.

All highlighters can be used on the bridge of the nose,  on the tops of cheekbones, and on the top of lips to give a pout look.

Highlighters are quick ways to pick up a look in the morning, midday, or night, and are my all-time favorite for a purse compact for that very reason.  Have fun playing with highlighters!  They quickly make a HUGE difference.

So what if you have saggy skin?  Or you just want something to give your everyday skin care regimen a HUGE boost?  Then you gotta get Serum+C.  It’s loaded with botanicals and vitamins that help build up collagen (what keeps skin young/healthy) which in the end makes skin more resilient, firmer, more lifted, and hence younger & healthier looking.  My friend, Bonnie, has tried several serums with vitamin C said that Mary Kay’s Serum+C is by far the best.  They just came out with it (after debuting it in Asia to test the product) in America and it is awesome!

Just remember though, Serum+C is a supplement to your regular skin care, so make sure you have It won’t be as potent without an everyday skin care regimen, so make sure you have a good basic skin care program.

Three Things

“I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion.  these things are your greatest treasures.” ~Lao-tzu

Remember the four major signs of aging from a month ago?  I’ve gotten questions about what to do to get rid of and especially prevent skin from aging.  My personal recommendation is to use the only skin care set on the market clinically proven to significantly reduce all four major signs of aging: Mary Kay’s Miracle Set.  It contains the five essential steps to skin care plus two supplements (a day solution and a night solution) that add extra age-fighting benefits.

If you want faster results, or need extra attention to one or all four signs, then you can add extra supplements to your regimen.  You can also add your acne medication in between the 3-in-1 cleanser and day or night solutions.  Mary Kay even has an acne gel & blemish toner if your acne is of the milder variety.  (I personally love the acne gel for everyday treatment of the T-zone, and the blemish control toner for spot treatment of zits).

Remember that it’s important to use skin care products all from the same skin care line!  If you are using a brand that doesn’t offer all the supplements you want, then you should switch brands!

More on specific products for targeting specific age signs like age spots to come in the following weeks!  Stay tuned…

Moonshine

“We are here, and it is now.  Further than that, all human knowledge is moonshine.” ~ H.L. Menchken

Since the eye has naturally thinner skin, it shows discolorations much easier.  To quick cover that sleepy discoloration, apply mineral powder foundation to the eye as well as the rest of the face paying close attention to the undereye area.  Mary Kay’s Mineral Powder Foundation has excellent coverage with just one sweep and gives an excellent base for eye color if you have time to apply it.

If discoloration is bad then apply concealer first, preferably skin-toned colored concealer, allow to dry, and then apply mineral powder foundation.

Both Feet

“Only a fool tests the depth of the water with both feet.” ~African proverb

Eyelashes naturally fall down into the eye, especially after a good nights rest, which naturaly makes the eyes look sleepy.  So by simply curling the lashes it visibly opens the eye up and makes you look more alert, and definitely less sleepy.

For an extra pop, add mascara which defines the lashes and eye making it look gorgeous.

You Were Born Worthy

“You are a Divine Child of God with Unlimited Potential. You are meant to live all that you desire. You were born worthy, lovable, deserving, and complete. This is the only vision that I hold for you.” ~Anisa Aven
